Back in the Wilderness....
Day 17:
We woke up in the hotel in Turlock, the kids played in the hotel lobby after breakfast, where I found that a large amount of the orchards in the area have almond trees. After breakfast, we drove back to an RV dealer we had passed just before the town on the 99.
We were fortunate that they were available to help us, especially being just travelers passing through town. The RV dealer was actually very accommodating, giving us a place to sit and watch TV while we waited for them to fix some minor problems we'd been having with the home.
Driving into Yosemite, we followed a raging river with lots of white water rapids. |
We stopped by Sonic on the way out of town, grabbing lunch to be eaten in the car, as we took 140 up into the hills that turned into mountains surrounding Yosemite. The drive took longer that I'd expected, but we arrived before the places closed down and there were a couple hours of daylight left to back in our motor home (no plug in or water) and go for a walk through the valley along the river.

After we'd returned, Benjamin and I stayed outside and practiced a little football as the twilight turned to darkness. Coming into the RV, we ate grilled cheese sandwiches and soup that Jenny had made. After dinner, we all settled down and watched a movie on the laptop and snuggled into our sleeping bags to prepare for a cold night's sleep.
